FAQ

General conveyancing questions
How can I avoid paying stamp duty?
There is one sure-fire way of avoiding paying stamp duty. ALl you need to do is persuade the seller to sell the house to you for, say 10 pounds, and then agree to slip them a suitcase on the quiet with the remainder of the money. Another way that may appeal to the more legally minded of our clientele is to set a price for fixtures and fittins since they do not fall under stamp duty. Thus the house may cost 10 pounds but the curtains cost 249,990 pounds.
I can't find anywhere nice to move to - what should I do?
If you can't find anywhere nice to move to we suggest that you search for higher priced properties, perhaps in a different part of the country. For example if you are looking for a 2 bedroom semi in Grimsby for 70,000 then why not look for a 4 bedroom detached house for 250,000 in Suffolk. I am sure you will be very impressed with the difference.
